Frequently Asked Questions.

How long do we have the car for on our wedding day?                                                 There is no overall time limit, our normal full church wedding quote covers up to 4 hours in attendance, which includes taking Bride and Father to the ceremony venue, waiting time during the ceremony and the following photographs, then taking the Bride and Groom on to the reception venue. Register Office weddings cover up to 3 hours in attendance as the ceremony times are usually much shorter. After the Bride and Groom have arrived safely at the reception venue the car will depart back to it's base. Please make sure you advise us if your time requirements are to be longer than the normal in order for a correct quote to be given. In both cases a short stop off for photographs at an additional location can be included on route to the reception at no extra cost, but please advise if you require this at the time of reservation.

How long do we have the car for as our civil ceremony and reception are at the same venue? Although there is no overall time limit, the vehicle will be yours for the length of the wedding. Our normal single journey quote covers up to 2 hours in attendance this includes transporting the Bride and Father to the ceremony venue. Civil ceremonies usually take around 20 minutes so your Chauffeur will then have time remaining immediately after the ceremony [subject to ceremony length] so the Bride & Groom may have photographs with the car before it departs back to base. Please make sure you advise us if your time requirements are to be longer than the normal in order for a correct quote to be given.

Can we use the car to take the Bridesmaids & Bride's Mother to the Ceremony prior to the Bride?                                                                 Yes - However if the driving time to the ceremony venue is more than a 10 or 20 minute round trip then additional transport might be more practical. You must also consider possible traffic and road conditions, if these are not good an earlier journey using the Bride's car may allow it to become delayed or dirty by the time the Bride travels.

Do you provide your vehicle for Civil Partnership Ceremonies?                                       Yes, we are happy to provide our vehicle and chauffeur services on your special day to all of those making a commitment to each other. Will the car have already attended or is going to attend another wedding on my wedding day. Absolutely not, you have our assurance that yours will be the only wedding booked that day.

Can we view a car before we make a decision to book?                                                         Certainly, I want you to be sure the car is right for you. Contact me by phone or email and I can arrange to email more photographs. If the vehicle is available for your wedding date you will be given a no obligation quote, then if the quote is acceptable to you an arrangement will be made for you to view the car. The best way to view the car is while it is carrying out a wedding this enables you to see the valeted and ribboned car actually being driven. The Chauffeur will be happy to show you the car in more depth after the Bride and Groom and their guests have entered the church. By viewing in this way you may even pick up a few good ideas for your own wedding !! If the car is not attending a wedding within a week or so then a private viewing will be arranged.

How long will you hold the vehicle for us after we advise you we would like to book it? US-Carhire will hold the vehicle in your name for a period of up to 10 days while awaiting receipt of the signed and completed reservation form and the securing reservation deposit. If the securing deposit is not received within this period the vehicle will be released for other clients to hire. You should also be advised that if a deposit cheque is subsequently returned unpaid by the clients bank for whatever reason, the booking will be deemed as cancelled. Should the reservation still be required the full amount of the hire will then become immediately payable by means of a cash payment or a direct transfer of funds to our bank.

Why does a single journey itinerary cost about the same or only slightly lower than a full wedding itinerary price?                                   The biggest cost in both time and labour occurs before the car even sets out. Some 3 hours of valeting, washing, polishing and ribboning. We must then also include the travelling time to reach the collection address, therefore even a very short one way hire requires our paid labour for some 4 hours before you actually see the car. Our overall costs from then onwards are not that much different for both itinerary types. Also, to give you peace of mind each car is only used for one wedding per day even if it is only a single trip.

   Frequently Asked Questions.

Do you carry out weddings during the week?      Yes, on any day of the week.

How far in advance should we book our              wedding transport?                                                To stand a good chance of reserving this vehicl     I would suggest that If your wedding is being         held on a Saturday then think about booking         around 9 months in advance. If your wedding is    being held on any other day of the week then       booking 3 to 6 months in advance would be            advisable.

How flexible are you for Full Church Wedding      and Single Journey [Civil] ceremonies?                Very flexible after all this is your day and we are    hereo do exactly as you wish. All we ask is that    when making your reservation you advise us          of your full itinerary and timings especially if           they are going to differ from those mentioned in    the questions above. This will ensure there are      no last minute surprises on the day. Also the          cost of your vehicle will have been calculated on    information given at the time your reservation        was made.

If on the day we want to make an additional        trip or go to a different destination is this OK?    As stated in questions above, the amount you        will have paid has been based on the                    information given at the time of your booking,        however the Chauffeur will be as flexible and        understanding as possible.

Can we have an additional passenger/s in          the car, do we need to inform you!                        Yes you do. Your comfort and safety remains        paramount. Please always inform us well before    the day if there are additional passengers that      we have not been informed of. We will always        be happy to transport persons up to the legal        seating limit of the car, we will not under any          circumstances transport persons in excess of          the seating limit as this is unlawful and would        render the insurance invalid.

What happens if the car breaks down or              becomes unserviceable before the wedding        day?                                                                        Vehicles can break down or need unscheduled      repairs despite all the care lavished upon              them. If the vehicle is unable to carry out the          wedding and the problem manifests itself prior      to your wedding day you will be informed                immediately and will be offered a suitable car        from another reputable company, all monies          paid will be returned so you can enter into a          new arrangement with the other company.

What happens if the car breaks down on the        wedding day or is delayed in arriving by              heavy traffic?                                                          Vehicles as we all know can break down at the      most inopportune moment or can be held up in      traffic congestion, a fact of life in today's modern    world, and even though the driver will add              additional time on to the normal driving time in      order to reach you with time to spare, we would    strongly advise that you also prepare                    beforehand and have a back up plan to put into    action. Firstly ensure you have your Chauffeurs      mobile phone number, but please remember          that all contact with the driver on the day is by      mobile phone and therefore subject to signal          reception and the new mobile phone driving          laws. For peace of mind we would advise you to    nominate a friend or neighbour or guest                attending your wedding to be your rescue car in    the event of a last minute problem, to be                prepared to collect the Bride at short notice.          They will need to be contactable by mobile              phone and have it switched on until they know      the Bride has arrived safely at the church. The        object is to get the Bride to the Church in as          little delay as possible, even a local taxi                  company may not be able to provide a car as          quickly as your nominated friend. Please do not      worry, 99% of weddings go according to plan so    we are confident that your wedding will proceed    to the original arrangement, but a back up plan      prepared beforehand hand is a sensible                precaution.

Can you provide transport to the airport for        our honeymoon departure?                                    Yes, the vehicle is insured for Private Hire and        Executive Hire in addition to Wedding Hire and      therefore are available for such trips

Do you accept credit cards?                                  To keep prices as low as possible, we only              accept payment by cheque or cash.

Can we pay cash on the day?                                I'm Sorry no, to secure the vehicle we require a      £50 non refundable deposit to be received            within 10 days of making your reservation, with      the balance to be received not later than 21          days before the wedding day.
